Materials

  • Fall fabric of choice
  • Stuffing
  • Small twigs
  • Scissors
  • Glue gun
  • Needle and thread
  • Buttons
  • Fall colored ribbon

Directions

  1. Depending on how big you want your pumpkins to be, cut your fall fabric into rectangles.
  2. Thread your needle and sew around the outside out the rectangle stopping half way, and close with a basic knot (so when you pull on the string it becomes tighter). When stitching this make big stitches and gather material as you go along.
  3. Then repeat to the other side with a separate thread.
  4. You should now have a ball or “pumpkin” shape with a loose whole in the top. When you have finished, you will have something like a drawstring bag.
  5. Fill your pumpkin with stuffing. Once you have stuffed to your pumpkin pull the treads tight to close the hole leaving room for your stem.
  6. Stick your twig into the tight whole to create the stem of the pumpkin.
  7. Glue on buttons or tie a ribbon around the stem if desired.

Candle Holder Made From An Apple

Materials

  • Apple
  • Medium sized candle (diameter cannot be wider than the apple)
  • Artificial moss
  • Faux cranberry twigs
  • Spoon or a strawberry pitter

Directions

  1. Take your apple and carve out the middle using a spoon or a strawberry pitter, if you have one. Make sure to remove enough apple flesh so that the candle fits, but leave enough so that the apple still maintains its shape.
  2. Once you have removed enough flesh so the candle slides into the apple, remove a small amount of flesh around the opening, so you can stick a little moss and cranberry twigs in between the apple and the candle. This will create a pretty fall look as well as hiding the ugly edge of the apple.
  3. This craft is great for a one-time use center piece for a holiday party or wedding.

Materials

  • Dried pinecone
  • Fall leaves
  • Colored paper
  • Scissors
  • Marker
  • Glue gun

Directions

  1. If you found your pinecone in nature rather than the store, inspect it to make sure there are no bugs in the cone. You don’t want to bring them into your home. You also need to dry your cine pone.
  2. Take your fall leaves and glue them to the top/back of the cone. So it is standing in between a row of the opened “pine cone flakes”.
  3. Cut out a turkey face and legs from the paper, and draw eyes onto the face.
  4. Glue the face and legs onto the pinecone.
  5. This pinecone turkey is great for a thanksgiving center piece, fall decorations, or a kids craft!
