Materials

  • Super Glue
  • Dried corn husks
  • Paint
  • Wooden ball
  • Paint brush
  • Bucket of water
  • String

Directions

  1. Soak your corn husks in a bucket of water to make them bendable.
  2. Take 4 corn husks and arrange them so they are overlapping, and tie a string around the husks 1/2 an inch from the top. This will form the shoulders and skirt of the dress.
  3. Take one more piece of husk and glue it over the doll. This will form a poncho look, and will cover the cut ends of the doll. Wrap an extra piece of husk around the center of the doll to hide the strings.
  4. Take a husk and roll into a cylinder shape and tie a piece of string around both ends. Slide this cylinder above the string tied center. This will form the arms of the doll. Now you can paint your dolls dress any color you like.
  5. Allow the doll to dry. Glue your wooden ball to the top of the doll to form its head. Draw a nice face on your wooden ball. Glue extra bits of husk to the head to form its hair.
  6. Now you have a cute corn husk doll that the girls will keep occupied with throughout the holiday weekend!
